Voice clarification is a process used to enhance the intelligibility (clarity) of a person's speech  or voice.  This may be necessary when a voice recording is required for an audio-visual presentation, website content, future mass distribution (duplication) or just archiving.

It is not uncommon to wind up with a poor quality self produced recording even after having taken precautions to assure proper recording technique.  An poor sounding recording may be the result of circumstances beyond your control.

Below is a sampling of problems that may be encountered, along with the effect on the intelligibility of the vocal recording or material. We can minimize or eliminate these problems completely.  The result will be a much more intelligible and effective product.

Room with poor acoustics (long reverb time). Voice sounds distant - as if in an arena or cave.

This causes the listener to strain - while trying to make out the words. As a result, the listener will lose certain words and possibly miss the message altogether.

Voice very low in volume. Lots of background noise - voice hard to hear. This is the result of recording the voice at too low a level.

Voice sounds very bassy. Some words hard to make out.  Some words very explosive. T, P, D and S very pronounced.

The sound of the recording interferes with the message.  Listener will find it hard to concentrate.

Badly recorded phone conver-sation.  Equipment malfunction produces unsightly sound.

Almost impossible to hear what was said. Some words and passages will be missed.

Audio/Voice Clarification-Extensive NR Sample  This is a before and after partial sample of a telephone conversation.  A loud oscillation was produced by the telephone equipment. This is a good example of how some some types of audio can be noise processed and the audio clarified with special audio tools.

The speaker's talking style is too dynamic.  The recording sounds very loud - then, very quiet - then, very loud.

This causes a very unpleasant listening experience. First, the listener endures a very loud passage - then, the listener strains to hear. This makes it very hard to concentrate on the message.  Any subtle remarks are usually lost.

The above examples will illustrate typical results of pieces of music and speech that have gone through our voice clarification/restoration process. The example switches back and forth between "before" and "after" restoration. The first couple of before/after switches will be indicated by a tone.
