You are looking at a JVC TD-V711 Semi-Pro Cassette Deck. This was one of a series of semi-pro cassette decks that Sansui produced in the late 1980's. I used this deck from 1988 to 1992 for making master cassettes. It has been sitting idle since then. This deck is built like a brick sh_t house. It is very well appointed - including wooden side panels. This is a great opportunity to obtain one of the better decks that were made before cassette became obsolete. The original manual is included with this auction.

Harman Kardon Citation 12 power amp.

This HK amp works well and is in good condition for its age! There is a very low level hum - could use new caps. The paint only has a few minor scratches.  The lettering on the placard is very nice. If weight and heat dissipation were signs of quality, this amp would be the winner hands down. This amp weighs almost as much as my older tube-type Citation II. It is rated at 60 watts RMS per channel. It has very tight low end, and clear highs! Basically, this amplifier is sure to please.

NAD 1700 Monitor Series tuner/preamp.

This tuner/preamp was their very best in the late 80's to mid 90's  (The equivalent of their Silver Series today). The 1700 is considered to be their first and best preamp/tuner, and it is a perfect example of the Monitor Series no compromise design.  The NAD 1700 has inputs for Phono (MM & MC), Tape 1 and Tape 2. It features bass EQ, Mono, Low Level, infrasonic filter (switchable) and 2-way tape dubbing.  The retail price of the 1700 was more than $800. Everything works flawlessly. All the lights work and the cosmetics are perfect except for one small (very hard to see) scratch on the top front plate.  You can see from the picture that the unit is missing a small plastic cap for the knob at the front. This does not affect the unit at all (can be ordered from NAD). There are also two RCA jacks on the back that need to be replaced. This preamp sounds very good.

TWO Tannoy 3836 Dual Concentric Drive units.

THE PRICE SHOWN IS FOR TWO TANNOY 3836 SPEAKERS.

You are looking at a pair of Tannoy 3836 15 inch PcQ Point Source Dual Concentric Drive units. These are the drivers used in the commercial CPA15 system - and are identical in performance to the driver used in the System 15 DMT monitors which cost well over $5,000. The 3836 speaker is currently the most widely used Tannoy speaker on Broadway and on the London stage. This is due to its incredible performance, wonderful sound and reliability. These speakers were used as spares in a traveling Broadway production audio system for Phantom of the Opera. As you can see from the pictures, the speakers will need 2-way crossovers and enclosures. These Tannoys are designed to work well in relatively small and simple bass reflex enclosures. They will handle 600 watt peaks and are capable of very high output.

These speakers - without a doubt - are "the best high sensitivity speakers available for under $10,000." I have recently been in contact with a knowledgeable chap from NZ who owns a pair of these. He claims that these drivers are the same ones that were used in the $ 14,000 Tannoy Churchill speakers.

This is a hard to find HeathKit model # IM-16 Volt/Ohm Bench Meter. It features a large analog dial readout and handy carrying handles. This solid state bench meter is perfect for all your testing needs. Controls are: voltage control (.5, 1.5, 5, 15, 50, 150, 500, 1500), ohm control (rx1, rx10, rx100, r1k, r10k, r100k, r1meg) off, line batt control, AC, DC-, DC+, Ohms control and a zero Ohms adjust knob. The probe input is on the lower right hand side of the Vom.

Heathkit IG-18 Audio Sine/Square Generator.

These are very nice Heath solid state audio generators .. easy to use and provide a clean, stable audio output at a healthy level if required. This one has a problem with the outer case finish but the panel is nice and with minor effort it would be a good looking instrument. No clue what caused that spotted effect .. it's not rust! Generator works fine into an amp .. I have not looked at the signal with a scope]. Unit measures 13" X 5" X 7" deep and well packed shipping weight will be 13 pounds.
